Why we read the Bible

For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. Hebrews 4:12

God is ready and waiting to speak to you through His word, the Bible. It is in the Bible we find out about how God sees you and your world. Jump into your Bible today. Start a reading plan. If you miss a day, that's okay, don't give up, just pick up from where you left off.

Create a Plan

A fantastic and free resource for Bible reading and devotions is the YouVersion Bible App for your phone. You can choose to connect with other friends who use the app to share devotions and Bible reading with each other.

There are four types of YouVersion Reading Plans;

  1. Reading through the Bible Plans - read through the Bible, book by book, or all the way through in a set period of time.
  2. Topical Plans - read scripture based on a particular topic along with devotional commentary about scripture.
  3. Book Based Plans - studies based around a particular book of the Bible.
  4. Seasonal Plans - associated with a particular season such as Easter or Christmas.

If you're new to Bible reading, we suggest starting with the Gospel of John, and then reading Romans.
